Join Diana Redgrave, Husna Begum and our very own Tracy Barbe for our StoryPlay workshops. They are interactive, fun and will spark your imagination!

StoryPlay is aimed at dads, mums, friends and carers with children aged 2 – 5. The sessions use puppetry, craft and stories to encourage families to bond, talk, grow and in an exciting and creative way.

Upcoming events:

These sessions will continue in September.

Past events:

Sun 13 Jun – As summer comes, we will be going outside to see how things grow and telling stories amongst the plants.

Sun 23 May –  We will be stitching together a brand new story from your children’s own ideas.

Sun 18 Apr – Learn how a little can go a long way.  Our smallest listeners will enjoy learning stories about resourcefulness and resilience in stories from around the globe.

Sun 21 Mar – Outside and inside growing stories, songs and seeds celebrating Spring Equinox

Sun 21 Feb – The Great Race, a shadow puppet story of the animals of Chinese New Year

Sun 7 Feb – Stories from around the World, during National Storytelling Week

Families from LBTH also receive a Rich Mix PlayPack through the post, to help take part in the creative play.

For each session we will all come together for an online zoom session which will include an exciting pre-recorded film.

Really lovely- we love the structure and it is nice and informal which makes our little one feel at ease.

We really enjoyed the fan-making (thank you for sending the wonderful resources) and the Chinese New Year shadow puppet story of the Great Race- it was great to find out about the origins of the names of years and the film was beautiful

We loved the film – the song as well as the stories – we’ve been singing it all week!

My little girl loved hearing the culturally rich stories from around the world, the zoom interaction and den building.

This session will take place online, so make sure you have a laptop, tablet or mobile phone with a good internet connection.

Priority is given to local Tower Hamlets families with children 2 – 5 years old. Families will be encouraged to creatively together in these sessions, so please note that supervision is the responsibility of the accompanying adults for all of the activity.
