It’s been a year since the events of the first film, and Eddie (Hardy, The Dark Knight Rises, Mad Max: Fury Road, Venom) is still struggling to adapt to life with Venom, an oily-black alien substance that grants him superhuman abilities and a tendency to eat people’s heads.

Looking to revive his career as an investigative journalist, Eddie pursues an interview with serial killer Cletus (Harrelson, Solo: A Star Wars Story, War for the Planet of the Apes), but things soon go pear-shaped when the convict becomes the host of his very own symbiote and escapes his scheduled execution.

Suffice to say, carnage ensues.

The impressive cast also features Michelle Williams (Venom, The Greatest Showman), J.K. Simmons (Justice League, Whiplash, Spider-Man Far From Home), Naomie Harris (Moonlight, No Time To Die), Stephen Graham (Line of Duty, Rocketman, The Irishman), and Tom Hollander (Bohemian Rhapsody, Mowgli: Legend of the Jungle).

a love story written in blood.

offering monster-movie mayhem with a welcome sense of humour about its own ludicrousness.
