DASH CAFÉ: Exposure - politics and the soviet film industry

Wednesday 22 March
Main Space
free

In a nutshell

Film clips from across a century, expert and thoughtful conversation and live music from Mazaika Duo

Go on...

Working with their filmic partners Kino Klassika, Dash Arts explore the politics of the Soviet Film Industry – showing clips from across the decades that take in representations of early Soviet social realism, war patriotism and the impact of tight censorship on the industry with lively debate with experts. Plus there will be live music from the brilliant Mazaika Duo, who’ll play a set drawn from and inspired by the phenomenal film music hits.

Since May 2010, Dash Arts have hosted monthly free Dash Cafés featuring live music, film, performance, readings and discussion at venues across London. Dash Cafés are intimate and informal: a chance to encounter new ideas, surprising perspectives and unusual artists who shed new light on the regions in which we work.

What to Expect

Films, lively conversation and live music.
