FRAN & FLORA
Virtuosic cello and fiddle duo to die for...bringing you the soul, the heart, the blinis and the angst of a Russian folkloric fantasy, lightly dusted with Eastern European, Middle Eastern, Celtic and Breton folk, gypsy music, a slice of lemon and a slug of Stolichnaya
“Its hard to understand why tunes have never been done this way before…”‘ - Rootsworld (USA)
A failsafe fusion of virtuoso instrumentalism, mesmerizingly sublime arrangements and all manner of pulse-grabbing grooves that turn on a sixpence and urge you into the belief you’ve got your dancing shoes on. It takes a special kind of talent to take an old school musical idea and turn it into the Next Big Thing but that’s what they do. Countless storming shows in just a few short years later, they’ve got orgasmic reactions from heaving crowds at festivals like Bestival, Secret Garden Party, Klezmer in the Park and even headlining at the Brit Awards After Party. Tonight’s set features their unstoppable collision with music from the Russian Federation.
Hosted by Dash Arts artistic director, Josephine Burton
