Olcay Bayir’s music is a natural marriage of her time-honoured Anatolian heritage and the vibrant, eclectic sounds of London. Classically-trained in the UK as a soprano, collaborations with musicians from all around the world have informed Olcay’s music as much as the rich folk traditions of her youth.

Her debut album Neva was a collection of Anatolian folk songs. The new album Rüya- Dream was part funded by PRS Foundation’s Women Make Music programme and showcases Olcay’s own compositions.

Multi-instrumentalist Firat Kaya will open the concert, performing traditional Anatolian folk songs interpreted freely on solo saz, the iconic long-necked Anatolian lute, and the banjo-like cumbus.
