Decembers Dash Cafe traces the impact left by disappearing European cultures. Collaborating with partners, Lithuanian Art and Culture in the UK and The Embassy of Lithuania‘s Litvak Days, we explore specifically how Lithuania’s almost entirely lost Jewish community continues to inspire contemporary culture today.
Expect film and conversation with Paulina Pukyte, artist and curator of the 2017 Kaunas Biennial on the (im)possibility of memorials, composer Ben Lunn on the impact of Jewish composers on Lithuanian music, and the wonderful DJ collective Baltic Balkan who will wrap up 2018 in a frantic dance whirlwind of Balkan Beats, gypsy punk and klezmer.
