Inspired by the true story of writer, filmmaker, and activist Jannatual Ferdous Ivy, this dance-theatre production follows a young woman who has a tragic burn accident leaving 60% of her body scarred. Even when her traumatising experience causes ramifications in her personal life, she does not fall into despair. Instead, she is resilient and determined, aspiring for higher education, filmmaking, mountain climbing, and literary endeavours. She finds fulfilment in helping others and striving for a more inclusive society.

This enthralling dance drama integrates kathak, bharatanatyam, ballet, contemporary, and flamenco. Each style delves into different facets of Ivy’s story, manifesting her internal struggles and unwavering hope. Rising Lioness exemplifies the indomitable human spirit.

Adity Dance CIC was founded in 2023. The company fosters community engagement through building inclusive dance spaces.
