Rich Mix is delighted to partner with Cardboard Citizens to bring ‘No Box, No Label’ – a devised forum theatre play by Cardboard Citizens’ Youth Ensemble. This highly interactive piece takes on the subject of youth homelessness and challenges stigma around it. The show, followed by a discussion and Q&A with the actors is offered free to Year 10 and 11 students in Tower Hamlets.
‘No Box, No Label’ couldn’t be more timely, since the levels of poverty in Tower Hamlets – one of the causes of homelessness – are very high and affect many local families and young people.
Performances take place at 2pm on Wed 25 Sep and 11am on Fri 27 Sep.

Cardboard Citizens have been making life changing theatre with and for homeless and those at risk of homelessness for over 25 years. This project is from our ACT Now programme, working with young people between the ages of 16 and 25.
Following regular drop in sessions at Cardboard Citizens HQ in Whitechapel, the group have been auditioned to form the cast who have created the play.
The work will question the stigma used around youth homelessness and encourage young people to recognise behaviours amongst their peers in order to be able to support each other and raise issues to get help.
The play will use forum theatre techniques to encourage audience members, to think differently about the situations presented in the play, and try out alternative strategies onstage.
