Therapeutic sound can be deeply relaxing and help us reach restorative states of rest and assist with your emotional self regulation.
Alistair Smith is a musician, sound healer, teacher, writer, published composer and tutor for the College of Sound Healing. His passion and purpose is to share the beauty and healing power of sound and music- such an essential tool for our wellbeing.
In this workshop you will:
- learn about sound and the importance of cultivating mindful presence;
- understand the effect of different sound frequencies on your brain and your emotional states;
- learn a simple and efficient technique to use sound to feel more relaxed and focused;
- be treated with a relaxing experience of therapeutic sound where all you have to do is close your eyes and listen.
Words from Alistair about what to expect on the day:
“During the workshop I will be giving a ‘soundbath’. I will explain more on the day but it is good to have somewhere to sit or better, to lie down and relax for about 30 minutes. Please prepare your space and, if possible make sure you won’t be disturbed.
If you have speakers to connect to your computer or phone, this will improve your experience. Headphones can also be good if you are in a noisy environment, or are watching on your phone and don’t have speakers. I very much look forward to seeing you on Saturday and sharing the amazing world of sound!”
I felt like all dissonance had gone, physically, mentally and spiritually, and that harmony had been restored.
