Gagarin collaborated with Nico over many years, and here performs a new score for Nina Danino’s work. Comprised of four other experimental films and a meditation on the River Thames by the filmmaker, SOLITUDE is an immersive experience to be watched on the big screen, like Warhol’s screen tests – with an emphasis on the screen and film material.

This event is a gentle prompt to consider Nico, her work, and her connection to the Romantic poetry we hear recited in the film. Alongside the films, swirling electronic music by Ash Ra Tempel, electronic guitar from James Creed, and arrangements by Gagarin and Nina Danino drive us deeper into the music and sound.
