Frida Kahlo has gained a prominent place in art history, and is seen by millions today as one of the most important artists of all time – but it was not always like this. During her lifetime, she had to overcome many challenges, including being seen for a long time, due to her marriage with Diego Rivera, as just ‘the wife of a great artist’.

This puppet family theatre performance explores this idea in a fictional episode of Frida’s life – featuring live music from one of London’s finest Latin American musicians Luzmira Zerpa.

Join us after the show for a family workshop inspired by Frida’s art, led by Maria Paula Muñoz.

Written by Francisco de la Mora, author of the book Frida Kahlo: Her Life, Her Work, Her Home. Puppets by Marta Alonso.

Suitable for children aged 3+. Children under 2 go free but must be seated on an adult’s lap.

Please note: the session at 10.30am will be delivered in English, and the 1.30pm session in Spanish.
