Voices from Prison is hosted by John Costi and will feature original performances as well as readings of work submitted by people in the criminal justice system.
John Costi is a London-based artist whose practice is influenced by his experience of being imprisoned in his early youth. Since sharing his creative work with Koestler Arts in 2007, John has had a longstanding relationship with the charity, most recently co-curating its annual exhibition No Comment at the Southbank Centre with Jeremy Deller. John is an example of the transformative power of the arts in prison and other secure settings, which this event will shine a light on.
Koestler Arts encourages people in the criminal justice system to change their lives by participating in the arts. The charity showcases participants’ creativity to the public, so people can witness this diverse range of voices, stories, and talent.
Please note that seating for this event is first-come first-served, and some seats have a partially restricted view. This event might showcase content that some people might find upsetting.
This event is kindly supported by the T.S. Eliot Foundation and AtkinsRéalis.
