My name is Ahmed Abu Aisha. I am 27 years old, born and raised in the Gaza Strip, Palestine. Every photograph you see here was taken during the seven months I lived through the genocide in Gaza, beginning in July 2023.

Please do not mistake these images as reflections of who we are in times of peace. This exhibition does not represent our ordinary lives. They capture a period defined by unimaginable violence, fear, and loss. I photographed each moment because I knew I would never be able to forget it – scenes of survival, displacement, hunger, and bombing, as well as the fragile fragments of daily life that persisted around us. My hope is that this exhibition serves as a reminder that every choice we make has the power to affect another human being, even those living far beyond the borders of our own daily lives.

Denizens Society Global (DSG) is committed to empowering and protecting families, youth, and children, with a strong focus on those whose lives have been disrupted by war and displacement. Guided by its mission, DSG delivers comprehensive, targeted programs that strengthen resilience, promote human rights, and expand access to essential services. Rooted in its vision, Denizens Society Global strives to build a world where every individual – regardless of circumstance – can thrive free from violence, poverty, and discrimination, with their rights protected, their voices uplifted, and meaningful opportunities available for a peaceful and prosperous life.
