Not everything that is faced can be changed, but nothing can be changed until it is faced.

Working from the text of James Baldwin’s unfinished final novel, this strikingly relevant documentary explores the detail and complexity of racism in America. Through Baldwin’s memories of his friends Martin Luther King Jr, Malcolm X, and Medgar Eversthe film examines the country’s racial history, the civil rights movement, and the enduring systemic struggles Black people continue to face today.

A striking work of storytelling.
