They have devised this event in solidarity with prisoners in the UK, from those incarcerated for their role in the liberation of Palestine, to those held indefinitely under the cruel regime of IPP (Imprisonment for Public Protection).

The event will open with a film screening on prison resistance, followed by a collaborative workshop in which RFS participants will guide you through communicating with prisoners using writing, voice notes, video clips, and memes. The correspondences we make will later be edited and shared with prisoners.

Letter writing is a very simple and powerful way of showing solidarity and asserting the humanity of incarcerated people. It’s a simple gesture that means a lot to those isolated from their friends and loved ones and misled by the state into believing they have been forgotten.
