The SCI-FI-LONDON 48-Hour Film Challenge has been running for over fifteen years—and it’s launched some amazing careers.

We’ve seen unknown actors go on to huge things—like Daisy Ridley, who starred in the 48hr film BLUE SEASON. Household names have taken part too, including David Hasselhoff in IT’S NO GAME; we’ve even had the world’s first AI-written screenplay, SUNSPRING, brought to life in just 48 hours. And, in 2025, a short made for the challenge—UNREASON—was turned into a feature film, TIME TRAVEL IS DANGEROUS (it even uses some of the original footage!).

This is why our challenge is such a brilliant space to learn, experiment, and sharpen your skills.
