Edgy and atmospheric, dark and dystopian, the Hyperdub label has provided the soundtrack to our city since 2004 – and the London Short Film Festival tonight celebrates the Hyperdub sound of the underground on both screen and stage.
On film and through the punch-packing Rich Mix sound system, there’ll be rarely seen music videos from the likes of Ikonika (the dazzling Lossy), Jessy Lanza (Oh No) and Hyperdub stalwart Spaceape (On the Run).
There also be documentaries on King Midas Sound and the much-missed DJ Rashad, as well as the mystical Ghost Diamond, a short film featuring Okzharp and Manthe Ribane.
Plus, there’ll be special DJ sets from Okzharp and Cooly G to round out a massive night in honour of a label still at the bleeding edge of electronica after 15 peerless years.
