This outlandish, freewheeling black comedy was improvised over many weeks of rehearsals with the film’s actors (all hailing from India’s National School of Drama) – drawing from their personal experiences of growing up as women in patriarchal small-town India. (24 mins)

Shot on a phone, and filmed in three uninterrupted long takes, this multilingual short features a large and ethnically varied cast, most of whom were facing a camera for the first time. (20 mins)

These films are in Bengali and Hindi with English subtitles.

This screening will be introduced by Dr Ashvin Devasundaram, Senior Lecturer of World Cinema at Queen Mary University.
