One of LaBruce’s most celebrated films, Hustler White is a fictionalised study of male hustlers working in Los Angeles, based on real events that happened to sex workers. Entirely shot on 16mm, this provocative film is both a satirical black comedy and a tribute to classic Hollywood, in particular Billy Wilder’s Sunset Boulevard (1950).

This screening will be followed by a Q&A with the director Bruce LaBruce (via video conferencing), hosted by DMovies‘ Victor Fraga in partnership with Doesn’t Exist.

We’re also welcoming Bruce to the building on Tue 18 Apr for An Evening with Bruce LaBruce. Both events are in anticipation of Bruce’s upcoming project ‘The Visitor’ at a/political.
