During his stay, however, the film morphs into an intimate portrait on the challenges of creating identity, the agony of growing up, and the nuances of family, trans embodiment, ruralness and religion. The story is visually told and lyrically assembled through the use of home movies and first-person cinema verité.

The screening will include a pre-recorded introduction by Minax himself, and will be followed by a panel discussion moderated by Trans On Screen on the meaning of returning home for transgender people.
