Despite their differences, they band together to shelter Kenza, an orphaned migrant who has washed ashore. Unwilling to sugar-coat the difficulties of migrant lives, Erige Sehiri (Under the Fig Trees) presents an empathetic portrait of these women and the power of their sisterhood.
