An adaptation of the classical Urdu-Persian novel, Hamzanama’s character, Umro Ayyar, a thief and legend warrior of Tilism-e-Hoshruba, set in a futuristic sci-fi world.

Accompanying this screening is short film W.R.A.P, Dir. Saba Karim Khan, (27 mins).
Follow the lives of three underground hip-hop artists hailing from Karachi’s Gizri slum, who are service workers by day and create rap music by night.  Despite being surrounded by so much strife—violence and crime, death, drugs and alcohol, poverty—in a place like Gizri, what makes these boys gravitate towards rap music, towards creating art? Does it enable a beautiful and enduring friendship? And ultimately, does it offer some sort of hope and resistance—is it registering some politics of protest?

Followed by a virtual Q&A with the filmmakers.

Please note: The screening of W.R.A.P starts at 6.35pm.
