Oitij-jo Collective and Rich Mix invite you to a season of festivities this spring, celebrating celebration cuisine, culture and community. Workshops will include fun and easy ways to enjoy food more sustainably, recipes for preserves and strategies to reduce food waste at home. There will be taste tests and fun activities for the whole family.
To kick off the year, join print designer Rukia for a series of workshops on how to make printed material with food from the kitchen and flowers from your own garden!
Workshop 2 – Sun 9 Feb
Focus: Practice flower pounding onto dyed fabric
Plan: Learn how to pound flowers onto the dyed fabric created in the previous session – transferring their colour and pattern Material Needed: Bring any flowers you’d like to experiment with!
Workshop 3 – Sun 23 Mar
Focus: Learn no-sew techniques and how to create an organiser
Plan: Explore creating an organiser using elastic and no-stitch or hem tape
