This is a night that celebrates all things Yoniverse’s Golden Tongue. With an all gold dress code, they will deliver to you The Yoniverse Poets, finger-licking good samosas and heart-warming spoken word poetry. Featuring Shagufta K. Iqbal, Amani Z. Saeed, Afshan D’Souza Lodhi, Shareefa Energy, Sophia Thakur, Anjali Barot, Shruti Chauhan, followed by a DJ Set by Manara.
Golden Tongue enabled me to feel proud of being brown. It spoke to the anger, the joy, the indifference, of being a South Asian woman………..Golden Tongue was a space that placed South Asian women at the centre of the narrative. Most importantly, it was a night that was long overdue.
