As part of this year’s Spitalfields Music Festival, over 90 Year 5 pupils from local East London Primary Schools, Osmani and Canon Barnett, will perform their own original work, a reimagining of Music for Heart and Breath by Richard Reed Parry (member of Arcade Fire). Inspired by the piece, and by the rhythm of their own heart and breath, the young people have created brand new music with artists and educators Gawain Hewitt, Abimaro Gunnell and with festival artists.

Heart and Breath Reimagined is a direct response to Heart and Breath, which will be performed by The Riot Ensemble the following evening, on Wednesday 5 December, also as part of the Festival (tickets for both events are available on the Spitalfields Music website)

This project is supported by Spitalfields Music Trainee Music Leaders. Delivered in partnership with Tower Hamlets Arts and Music Education Service (THAMES)
