Komola Collective presents Women of Tagore Adapted by Leesa Gazi.

“For we women are not only the deities of the household fire but the flame of the soul itself.”

To celebrate International Women’s Day, Komola Collective are bringing three of Rabindranath Tagore’s best known female characters to life: Debjani, Charulota, and Nondini.

Nobel Laureate Tagore writes in a way that is both epic and relatable. From the inhabitants of the Underworld to those of a dystopian future, these women experience love and loss and have to make sacrifices. Along the way, these characters will make you question what it means to be a woman in a man’s world. Let’s raise a glass to these literary characters who have challenged us and captured our imaginations and our stages for more than 100 years.
