Witty, fierce and fearless – Mad Women is a play inspired by three outstanding Latin American women artists who struggled with bipolar disorder. This fictional portrayal of Frida Kahlo, Violeta Parra and Judith Marquez’s weaves their mental journeys from life to death, into the form of three intertwined monologues.

Mad Women fights the stereotypes and stigmas of what it has historically meant to be a woman with mental health challenges. Don’t miss this brutally honest conversation about sexuality, motherhood, gender oppression and the role of women in the arts, as artists and muses.

As a unique creative experiment, the same director and creative team have developed two versions of the play in parallel – how different could the outcome be? Be part of this innovative, inclusive and diverse experience by coming to both performances.

Mad Women is a project funded by Arts Council England and led by critically acclaimed Latinx director and playwright, Constanza Hola Chamy. It has been produced in partnership with St Margaret’s House, London.
