Join Akademi’s founder, Tara Rajkumar OAM, and Nina Rajarani MBE in an evening of discovery and rediscovery, a retrospective exploration of the past four decades through film and performance.
The evening features two restagings: a full rendition of Rajarani’s QUICK! (2006), a fast-paced take on a cut-throat London business world, and excerpts of Return of Spring (1986), a dance-drama based on the work of the 4th century poet Kalidasa, by Pushkala Gopal. A screening of A Thousand Borrowed Eyes (1994) explores the work of visionary kathak dancer Nahid Siddiqui, directed by the award winning Shakila Maanof The Southall Black Sisters.
