THE STORYPLAY TEAM
Valentine Hanson is an actor, storyteller and drama practitioner born and raised in East London who delivers interactive and virtual sessions in mainstream and SEN schools, museums, community centres and events and libraries in and around London. He also works at Discover Children’s Story Centre in Stratford.
Niall Moorjani is a non-binary, mixed Scots-Indian writer and storyteller. They tell stories and devise shows for children, adults and everyone in between. They have written, devised and performed shows for the Edinburgh Fringe Festival, Fringe of Colour and the Scottish International Storytelling Festival. Their first book of short stories will be released in spring 2022 with Fenn and Pickering.
Diana Redgrave is a storyteller, performer, writer, and primary school teacher, specialising in Early Years Education. She has performed solo story telling shows for families and has collaborated with the Millbrook Piano Trio to perform at the Patsy Wood Family Prom in Oxford. She works as a Story Builder at Discover Children’s Story Centre, and as a learning officer in a local Kent museum. She began working on StoryPlay in the virtual world in 2020.
Arkem Mark Walton is a performer, storyteller and maker. For families they have created the Drag Pirates, at the National Maritime Museum, online and at Discover Children’s Story Centre. For adults they have performed quirky cabaret at the V&A, Royal Vauxhall Tavern and the Arcola Theatre.
Charlie-Anne (Chaz) is a London, Essex and Devon based actor, singer, storyteller and facilitator specialising in childrens theatre. She is a graduate from East15 Acting School and has a passion for community theatre and theatre in education, particularly in early years. Chaz has worked for a variety of companies including Discover Childrens Story Centre, Emergency Exit Arts, and Freshwater Theatre Company. As a children’s singing and musical theatre teacher, Chaz enjoys anything that involves a bit of music!
Laura Sampson is a London-based performance storyteller and writer. For children and family audiences she has worked with organisations including Polka Theatre, Secret City Arts, Discover Children’s Story Centre, Hackney City Farm, and Acorn Book Club. For adult audiences, she has worked with StoryJam, Crick Crack Club, Inua Ellams’ Midnight Run, the British Library, and various festivals across the UK. She is also a Spinning Yarns Theatre associate storyteller.
