We know the facts: 25 percent of the UK’s carbon emissions come from the construction industry, there are 4.3 million homes missing from the national housing market, 648,114 vacant dwellings were counted in 2019 in England alone and yet the UK still demolishes 50,000 buildings a year.

With a limited amount of time to make lasting changes, surely the answers lie in training the next generation to be more environmentally aware when designing buildings and cities. But what does this actually mean in terms of architectural education and practice, which is rooted in economic development, growth and expansion?

Join us and a panel of guests to help us answer one of the biggest questions of our time: is it time to stop building?
