Tongue Fu is one of the UK’s leading spoken word and music shows. Poets, comedians, rappers and storytellers to re-imagine material live with brand new soundtracks and visuals created by some of London’s top improvising musicians and VJs

Created and hosted by poet and musician, Chris Redmond (BBC R1,2, 4, XFM, CBBC, SKY Arts), it is a riotous experiment in live literature, music, film and improvisation.

The Tongue Fu musicians also play with Nostalgia 77, Puppini Sisters, Beardyman DreamTeam, Mad Professor, Massive Attack and Jamie Cullum.


Jan Blake – One of the world’s leading storytellers, specialising in stories from Africa, the Caribbean, and Arabia. Recent highlights include Hay Festival, Viljandi Harvest Festival, Estonia and TEDx Warsaw

Raymond Antrobus – His new collection, The Perseverance was awarded The Poetry Book Society’s Choice Award. A founder of Chill Pill, his poetry has appeared on BBC 2, BBC Radio 4 and The Guardian

Theresa Lola – Joint winner of the 2018 Brunel International African Poetry Prize, shortlisted for the 2017 Bridport Poetry Prize and winner of the 2017 Hammer and Tongue National Slam Championship.
