Starting at 2pm, we invite you to meet our guest, David Banks, PSHE Advisory Teacher and Healthy Lives Advisor for the Tower Hamlets Council, who will share valuable guidance supporting parents / guardians to identify the barriers and solutions to a healthy and balanced diet. We will:

  • explore the benefits of healthy eating on the mind and body- including behaviour, sleep, concentration and learning
  • learn how to be Sugar Smart and why this is important;
  • develop a love for cooking;
  •  get shopping tips and learn about role models;
  • get time and money saving tips.

There will then be a 15 min break.

Starting at 3.15pm, we will invite you to bring along your children for the second part of the session which will consist of a light introduction into mindfulness, with the help of the three mindful dragons: Green, Red and Blue. The session will be held by Mary Louise and Delphine from the What Colour is Your Dragon Team. We will:

  • use drawing and creativity to explore self-expression, which is essential for mental health and wellbeing;
  • learn the language of the dragons as an accessible way to become aware of their emotions: the Green Dragon represents joy and playfulness, the Blue Dragon represents focus and drive and the Red Dragon is about stress;
  • practice sharing the dragons with others, which contributes to developing confidence.

Please have paper and coloured pencils ready, especially green, blue and red!
