Supported by National Lottery Community Fund and Tower Hamlets Council, Everyone a Maker is an exciting family-friendly programme of workshops, market stalls and performances from the OITIJ-JO community, centred around food sustainably.

Taking place on select Sundays, the workshops include fun and easy ways to enjoy food more sustainably, recipes for preserves and strategies to reduce food waste at home. Involving taste tests and fun activities for the whole family, the workshops kicked off in October 2024 and will continue into 2025 with Everyone a Maker Mela’s.

To kick off the project, the Rich Mix and OITIJ-JO team helped install a new food waste composter in our yard, enjoying a demonstration and getting to grip with how it works, getting ready to use in future workshops.

OITIJ-JO Collective provide platforms for creative practitioners and grassroots communities to come together and collaborate, enhancing British/Bangla engagement with wider global communities since 2013. Based at Rich Mix, they bring the vibrant and delicious flavours of Bangladesh to Rich Mix with a delicious hot food offer in our Cinema Bar and Stage.

OITIJ-JO’s experienced, all-female team of chefs use the freshest ingredients to create dishes that are not only delicious but healthy too.

We are excited to be working together on this project, learning together with our community and ensuring we are making eco-conscious choices, whilst celebrating cuisine, culture and community.

A big thank you to National Lottery Community Fund and Tower Hamlets Council for their support!
