In March, we welcomed over 600 students along with their teaching staff to experience movie magic on the big screen! For many of these children, it was the first time encountering the pure elation and joy that comes with seeing a film in the cinema.
We deliver our free film education screenings as part of our wider film education project, Flip The Script, a year-long primary school programme focusing on diversifying the curriculum and developing visual literacy through film and media skills. To support the students critical thinking, and literacy skills, we invited the students to take part in our film review competition, to be in with a chance of winning free cinema tickets!
We were overjoyed at what they came up with, and we had the unbelievably difficult task of selecting just a few to win!
Take a look at some of the reviews, and keep on reading to find our winners.
Runners Up
We loved the use of descriptive language in this review, to describe both their view of the film, and the characters and plot!
We cannot fault an honest review, and always want the children we work with to be able to express their opinions.
Winner
We love the journey our winner takes us on through their review, from telling us about what they love, to their wonderfully descriptive language and their critical reviewing.
Thank you to everyone who took part in the competition! We were so impressed by all the reviews and look forward to reading more from our next generation of film critics.
We can’t wait for our next free film education screenings, Every Child A Cinema Goer, in the summer term. Find out more at the link.
