At QalandarArts we like to bridge cultures, genres and even generations in the events we build and this one does exactly that. Both Junaid Ali and Shayaan Saqib are from East London and are rising stars in the UK’s classical music scene. Junaid is a student of Ustad Shahbaz Hussain; one of the world’s leading tabla players of his generation and Shayaan is a student of Arnab Chakraborty.

Imam Hamdani, from Pakistan and now a US resident, is a guitarist, composer and band leader of the eclectic global music ensemble Imam Collective. His music has been described as genre crossing and transcendental. Imam explores and threads music disciplines from around the world in a unique contemporary way, tethered to the social narrative of our times.

MOSI CONDE is a Djeli Deni, Young Griot, from Guinea Conakry’s leading family: Sekouba ‘Diamond Fingers’ Diabate & Mory Kante – with whom he performed at the RFH – are his uncles, Sona Diabate the founder of Les Amazones de Guineé is his aunt & his family are the inspiration for friends like Salif Keita and Alpha Blondy. Mosi Conde performed with and arranged music for globally renowned Ami Koita and Sekouba Bambino at their London festival concerts.

Ayoze Alejandro is #ElBrujo / The Magician for he has all sorts of tricks up his sleeve on percussion and drums. There isn’t a texture or layer he can’t create with his box of tricks. Originally from Gran Canaria, Ayoze is now a well established world musician on the London scene and beyond.

Kansia Pritchard is an enigma. He’s a musician/composer/multi-instrumentalist and instrument maker specialising in Indian Classical and music of the Middle East. From the UK, Kansia has travelled all over the world in his quest to learn and has performed in over 30 countries.
