Immerse yourself in a diverse and hypnotic evening of Sufi-inspired performances including:

  • Urdu and Persian Sufi poetry recital from Yousuf Abraham and Gunarjun Chawla.
  • A screening of a performance by Baul artists, Rina Das Baul and Sandhyarani Baul, with an English translation by Souradeep Roy.
  • Ershad Alamgir, accompanied by his band Sur-eal, will perform fusions of traditional Sufi songs with a contemporary style.
  • Writer and artist Bilan Ali, will present soundscapes highlighting the devotional and meditative nature of sound.

Whilst not individual exponents of these Sufi traditions, the performers nevertheless share a common link to them, and imagine what it means for them to engage with Sufi poetry and music through their creative practice.
