Samia is launching her new album Songs to Heal and Empower to celebrate the start of her UK tour. Accompanied on tabla by the revered maestro Sukhdeep Dhanjal, her new live show is a unique combination of soaring Eastern melodies, powerful and heartfelt lyrics in Urdu and English, electronics, deep bass grooves and visual art. Her dynamic, evolving work has enthralled audiences across Europe, the States and India.

  • NX Panther, a dynamic one-to-watch, providing a thrilling opening set of sultry electric vocal harmonies and hard bars on catchy beats.
  • Ecstatic Baul, present a short but very special presentation of Baul Music – the heart-arresting, unmarred melody that evolved from the soil of Bengal – with an ecstatic show by award winning poet, writer, curator, director, mover, shaker and performer T M Ahmed Kaysher. Accompanied by emerging tabla maestro Aniruddha Mukherjee, singer/musician Amith Dey on keyboard, spoken word poet Tanjina Nur-i Siddique on English translation with Sufi dance and visual interpretation by music popular folk dancers Sohel Ahmed and Farzana Mithila

The evening will end with time for a Q&A facilitated by writer and activist Amrit Wilson.
