From Fri 3 Mar we welcome Close, the Oscar-nominated winner of the prestigious Grand Prix at last year’s Cannes Film Festival. Rising star director Lucas Dhont (Girl, Corps Perdu) returns with this coming-of-age drama, in which two thirteen-year-old best friends drift apart after the intimacy of their relationship is questioned by classmates. Emotionally powerful and beautifully shot, it comes as no surprise that this film has been critically acclaimed across the board. Also from Fri 3 Mar, catch another festival favourite in Broker – the newest film from Palme d’Or-winning director Hirokazu Kore-eda (Shoplifters, Nobody Knows). Acting legend Song Kang-ho (ParasiteSnowpiercer) returns to the big screen as Sang-hyeon, co-owner of a black market adoption business – a performance that won him Best Actor at Cannes. When a young mother returns after abandoning her baby, she decides to go with the brokers on a road trip to interview the potential new parents – all while being trailed by two detectives. Heartwarming, vibrant and life-affirming, the film explores what it means to be a family, and the limits we’ll go to for someone we love. Topping off a fantastic week of releases, from Fri 3 Mar we are also getting back into the ring for Michael B. Jordan’s directorial debut Creed III, the latest instalment of the iconic Rocky/Creed franchise. Now world champion, Adonis Creed (Michael B.Jordan) leads a successful and fulfilling life.  But when a childhood friend (Jonathan MajorsAnt-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania, The Last Black Man in San Francisco) resurfaces after serving a long prison sentence, he is eager to make up for lost time – and finally get his chance in the ring with Creed. Building on director Ryan Coogler‘s previous films Black Panther and Creed in bringing representation to the mainstream, the film has picked up stellar reviews – read what The Guardian thought, and don’t forget to watch the trailer.

From Fri 10 Mar we head back in time with Meet Me In The Bathroom, an immersive journey through the New York music scene in the early Noughties. Adapted from music journalist Lizzie Goodman’s book of the same name by filmmakers Dylan Southern and Will Lovelace (Shut Up and Play the Hits, Blur: No Distance Left to Run), the film uses never-before-seen archive footage to tell the tale of a moment in music that reverberated around the world – featuring the likes of The Strokes, Vampire Weekend, LCD Soundsystem, Yeah Yeah Yeahs, and Interpol. From Fri 17 Mar, join us on a trip down Rye Lane – the charming British rom-com and Sundance favourite from breakout director Raine Allen-Miller. Set in South London, Yas (Vivian OprahI May Destroy You, Teen Spirit) and Dom (David Jonson), are a pair of twenty-somethings both reeling from bad breakups. Connecting over the course of an eventful day, they help each other deal with their nightmare exes – and potentially restore their faith in romance. Also featuring Munya Chawawa (aka Unknown P) and a whole host of up-and-coming British talent, this hilarious and original comedy will be one of the biggest British films of the year.  Check out this dazzling review from Indiewire, and watch the trailer.

Last but certainly not least, from Fri 24 Mar we see out the month with John Wick: Chapter 4, the newest instalment of the game-changing action franchise. Keanu Reeves (The Matrix) reprises his titular role; with Bill Skarsgård (It, Barbarian) Donnie Yen (Rogue One, Hero), Laurence Fishburne (The Matrix, Boyz n The Hood) and Ian McShane (Sexy Beast, Pirates of the Caribbean: On Stranger Tides) filling out a star-studded supporting cast. In this latest film, John Wick searches for his freedom – but before he can earn it, he must face off against a new enemy with powerful alliances across the globe… as well as forces that turn old friends into new foes. Featuring action-sequences that must be seen on the big screen to be believed, make sure you don’t miss this one!
