A group of young people will be performing Kalmrigaya – The Cursed Hunt, based on a tale from the era of the Sanskrit legendary Ramayana. Tagore composed this wonderful musical play in 1882 which is a magnificent ensemble of music of both east and west.
The story has multi-dimensional appeal in our contemporary society including environmental, moral and above all love for nature and humanity.
Presented by Anandadhara Arts who seek to make both songs and morals memorable – to be useful in a long future for participants and audiences alike. This performance will be a bold, multicultural experiment in bridging the great gulf confronting today’s young people — of how to pursue individual ambition while simultaneously learning and absorbing our diverse society’s shared ‘moral imperatives’.
This wonderful musical play is directed by renowned Tagore singer Dr Imtiaz Ahmed.
The performance is suitable for all ages.
