The Irene Taylor Trust has been inspiring people through its ‘Music in Prisons’ projects since 1995; in 2012 it extended this work ‘through-the-gate’ into the community with the ‘Sounding Out’ programme for former prisoner musicians, and ‘Making Tracks’, an initiative for young people experiencing challenging circumstances.

The resulting original music gives a unique insight into the lives of people who are often marginalised and undervalued; they have important stories to tell, experiences and talent that audiences need to hear and see.
