“Skateboarding is an individualised thing. Everyone does their own trick. You’re not dependent on a team or collaboration to skate by yourself. But it’s a community-based thing. I’ve been thinking about this idea of an individualised kind of methodology or practice within a community setting. Which in many ways I think is related to local filmmaking scenes or experimental filmmaking scenes. Those closely resemble skate culture.” – Simon Liu
