Clare Anyiam-Osigwe BEM
Clare Anyiam-Osigwe BEM is an award-winning film director and screenwriter, and the former lead script juror and co-chair of BAFTA, BIFA, AMAA accredited British Urban Film Festival (BUFF) from 2014 – 2022. Her directorial debut feature No Shade secured international theatrical release making Clare just the 6th black British woman to secure cinematic distribution in 2018. A romantic drama, it has been streamed over 16 million times on Amazon Prime in 2019 and was also licensed to Apple TV in 2020.
Clare was commissioned by The Voice Newspaper to produce and direct a short documentary, Windrush Stories celebrating 70 years of the first Caribbean settlers to the U.K. in 2018. In 2020, she was approached by HBO Max to write for TV. Clare is developing formats for several TV dramedies while preparing for her sophomore film Finding Forever starring Tim Reid, Arnold Oceng and Femi Oyeniran which goes into production in 2023. Clare has recently completed her debut directing block as a new TV Director for Channel 4 continuing drama, Hollyoaks.
Clare is the Co-Founder of BUFF STUDIOS, a boutique production house that focuses more on the development of black diasporic film and tv formats.
Alicia Adejobi
Alicia Adejobi is a seasoned entertainment journalist and currently assistant entertainment editor at Metro.co.uk, which she joined over four years ago.
She proudly covers all corners of showbiz from break-ups to make-ups and social injustice movements all while trying to keep up with the Kardashians.
However, her particular passion lies in spotlighting the achievements of Black talent in the entertainment industry and bringing attention to the challenges people of colour face in show-business.
