Award-winning group Casuarina dive deep into the samba heritage of Rio de Janeiro, celebrating the classics and playing fresh compositions for a new generation.

Casuarina started out playing in Lapa, a Rio neighbourhood steeped in samba history, going on to tour across Brazil, Europe and the US, including a packed New York City Lincoln Centre. Their dynamic contemporary sound is channelled through a traditional samba line-up: Daniel Montes (7 string guitar), Gabriel Azevedo (tambourine and vocals), João Fernando (mandolin) and Rafael Freire (cavaquinho). Casuarina’s lovely vocal harmonies and flying cavaquinho riffs come to you straight from the source. Come join the party for their new album +100!
