It explores how touch can be remembered and re-visited in the absence of the possibility of close physical contact and stems from a desire to touch and feel touched. Four performers explore memory, empathy and imagination to recreate touch-like sensations, to remember the value of touch and to connect to one another, yet in an imagined way.
Without ever leaving their seats, the audience members are called to inhabit the same imaginative space as the performers in an invitation to experience empathetic yet imagined touch.
As part of the evening Ania Straczynska and SE19Dance Project will present Storyland, a community devised and intergenerational work. Storyland is a journey through memories and stories of people just like you. From light reflections to personal discoveries, from those in our imagination to those very real, they create a landscape that is almost impossible to unpick. We all seek to keep only those that nurture us but, often those that we want to escape from really connect us with one another.
