Britain’s most-loved Afro band, Osibisa performs a special one-off show of the release of their new album ‘New Dawn’.

This is a celebration of the musical and cultural phenomenon of Highlife: Osibisa created a new genre of music that originated in the early 20th century, Highlife is characterised by jazzy horns, multiple guitars and an up tempo, synth-driven sound.

The ground-breaking group from Ghana celebrate their 50th anniversary with an exhilarating live showcase of their infectious Afro-rock fusion.

Osibisa takes flight from their pioneering Afro-rock ties of old, leaping into multi-genres of rock, reggae, jazz, calypso, pop, and soul; Representing the first taste of African music for many in the UK at the end of the ’60s, Teddy Osei’s Osibisa have since found fans across generations and continents with joyous hits like ‘Sunshine Day’, ‘Coffee Song’ and ‘Music For Gong Gong’.

Combining disparate sounds from Africa, America, the Caribbean and the West the group broke traditional genre boundaries to emerge as the ultimate African band.

A legendary band that started it all.
