The day will be hosted by Rich Mix and led by Into Film. This relaxed session is designed to build your confidence using filmmaking as a tool for learning. The session’s activities include stop-motion animation and filmmaking.

You’ll develop techniques to help your young people increase their love and passion for filmmaking. With a leaning toward narrative storytelling, through filmmaking you’ll help your young people develop a range of skills including teamwork, time management and creative problem-solving.

9.30-10.30 Introduction to Pic ‘n’ Mix Teacher Mentors

10.30-13.00 Stop Motion Animation

Create animations that you can integrate into your final film. Explore narrative, planning and design through animation techniques including claymation, silhouette and pixilation.

13.00-13.30 Lunch

13.30-15.30 Filmmaking

This session will build educator confidence in filmmaking. Filmmaking develops not just student voice, but a range of skills including teamwork, time management, leadership, and creativity. Educators will be equipped with a range of strategies to increase young people’s interest and understanding of film. Step-by-step guidance will be provided on including using different shot types, sound, and editing. Support and advice will be given on how to use software and adapt techniques to suit your classroom environment, specific learners’ needs and assessment objectives.
