Pritom is a successful and popular Singer-songwriter, music producer and actor from Bangladesh who presently lives in the UK. He is the only singer-songwriter who has been performing his own songs for the last 22 years. After the ’90s, His first song was officially released in November 1999 called “Shey” and that brought a groundbreaking success.

Pritom’s songs have played a strong role among the Bengali natives of Bangladesh and India in the last two decades due to their variety of thematic songs and lyrics. Bangladesh’s art-loving society and various newspapers have dubbed him the “The Magician of words”, the “Voice of the times”, and sometimes the “Voice of the people”.

He has been admired for his many revolutionary and contemporary songs in the Bengali music industry and for young audiences. Pritom’s songs cover contemporary politics, love, human rights, and protest, as well as bridging the gap between Eastern traditional and Western jazz music. He has produced many multilingual songs and featured and collaborated with many global artists. Pritom has released over 13 solo albums and more than 600 original songs altogether in his career. Besides Indian classical music training, he has studied at the New York Guitar Academy, SAE Institute, London, and currently studying BA music at Middlesex University, UK. Trained in theatre and acting, the artist has acted in various plays and commercials. Currently working as an active actor in the British film industry.

This event will launch Pritom’s new English song composed by him as well as east-west combination of poetry and music by the first Nobel laureate poet from the East and a music composer Rabindranath Tagore, William Shakespeare and American poet EE Cumming.
