Tasneim Zyada is a published British-Palestinian poet who has been writing for over 15 years. Her work explores themes of family relationships, displacement, mental health and faith. Tasneim’s poetry has taken her internationally both as a performer and workshop facilitator. She also works in the creative industry as a freelancer, covering varied roles from voice overs to copywriting and being ASRA Club‘s mindfulness coach. Currently, Tasneim is developing a series of workshops exploring dissociation and memories.
Rayane Chami is a Lebanese research psychologist, jewellery-maker, and poet who had been an active member of the poetry scene since 2016. Her poetry has featured across a diverse range of events in London, including Arab Women Artists Now (AWAN) by Arts Canteen, English Pen at Goldsmiths, SPEAK = by London Queer Writers, Love Fest London by Schmidt Productions, Deadline by Two Pale Ladies, and Branches Exhibition by Dima Karout. Her poetry reflects her dedication to mental health work. She aims to create a safe space for discussing heavy emotions, in order to highlight our common humanity and evoke a sense of community among seemingly diverse individuals.
Yomn Al-Kaisi is an Iraqi-Palestinian poet. She started writing to process grief, and over the past 7 years has performed at Shubbak Festival, Arabic Women Artists Now, Mela Festival, and other venues across London. In 2021, her poem Hummus and Breadsticks was competitively selected and published in the Black in White Poetry Community Collection. Her poems explore love, melancholy, absurdity, and humour.
Ramsay Short is a British-Lebanese journalist, writer and poet, former Beirut correspondent for London’s Daily Telegraph and founding editor of Time Out Beirut. His debut poetry collection, Spirits, is forthcoming in December tackling the themes of grief, loss and resistance. Ramsay is also known for his work with his friend, chef and travel personality, the late Anthony Bourdain, with whom he produced and appeared in the Emmy-nominated No Reservations – Beirut (2006), No Reservations – Back To Beirut (2010) – both for The Travel Channel, and Parts Unknown with Anthony Bourdain – Beirut (2015)
