At Tongue Fu poets, writers and storytellers take to the stage to perform live, amplified by the quick-witted improvisers of the Tongue Fu band.
February’s line-up features:
Anthony Anaxagorou is a British-born Cypriot poet, fiction writer, essayist and publisher. Winner of the RSL Ondaatje Prize 2023, shortlisted for the T.S. Eliot Prize. Anthony is artistic director of Out-Spoken, a monthly poetry and music night at the Southbank Centre, and publisher of Out-Spoken Press. In 2023 he was elected as a Fellow of the Royal Society of Literature.
Tife Kusoro is a Nigerian-British writer, performer, playwright, screenwriter and poet. Her first full length theatre works, We Have Sinned and Fly Home Butterfly were shortlisted for multiple awards. She’s worked with Talawa Theatre Company, the Bush Theatre and the Royal Court, and was one of the BBC’s 2021 London Voices.
Liv Torc is a world-shaping, creativity championing, poet, performer, producer and UN consultant. Co-artistic director of Hot Poets and producer of the poetry stage at WOMAD, Liv has performed at Glastonbury Festival, UNESCO in Paris, TEDxLondonWomen and BBC R4’s Poetry Please. Her published books include Show Me Life and The Human Emergency.
Adam Kammerling is an award winning poet, rapper, interdisciplinary artist and educator. His most recent works include; Seder (Outspoken) – his debut poetry collection, Shall We Take This Outside – a three-person spoken-word/dance theatre show that toured nationally and, Inside! – a piece of poetry/rave theatre commissioned by Centrepoint and the Saatchi Gallery.
Hosted by Chris Redmond – writer, musician and multi-artform collaborator. Founder of Tongue Fu and Hot Poets, his career spans thirty years, working in over twenty countries. His poetry and music have featured on BBC Radio 1-6, ITV, Sky Arts, CBBC, in The Guardian and Independent. In 2023 he was shortlisted for the Outspoken Prize and was on the judging panel for the Forward Prize.
