The People Speak are celebrating 25 years of the legendary talk show Talkaoke and quarter of a century worth of creative collaboration and connections that happened along the way. We are inviting all the past and current friends, supporters and collaborators to join us for an evening of Talkaoke run by fresh and seasoned hosts, live music, DJ sets and the first sharing of our latest international project – Talkaoke Skills Lab – bringing together artists from Uganda and the UK using technology! The Skills Lab sharing will happen live simultaneously in London, in Kampala and online via Zoom, so you can join from wherever you are in the world!

TALKAOKE
Talkaoke is a live, television-style talk show where you, the participants, decide on the subjects! The format is simple: the host sits in the middle of an illuminated round table, and you sit around the outside and talk about whatever comes up. Just grab the microphone and air your views. You will come away with new creative ideas and connections with new people.
TALKAOKE SKILLS LAB SHARING
Talkaoke Skills Lab is a unique artist development opportunity piloting a new approach to intercultural dialogue, collaboration and skills exchange by bringing together in a virtual and hybrid space artists, creatives, cultural practitioners and change-makers from Uganda and the UK. This part of the evening is fully designed and developed by the first Talkaoke Skills cohort.
